Massage & Energy Remedies to Relax, Restore, Revitalize 732.288.2711
Research over recent years has validated what ancient civilizations and Eastern cultures instinctively and intuitively knew: that massage and alternative modalities are effective in managing many health concerns including age-related disorders, anxiety, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, chronic and acute pain, neck and back pain, circulatory problems, depression, digestive upsets, Fibromyalgia, headaches, high blood pressure, immune system dysfunction, insomnia, stress related disorders and TMJ.
As one experiences and internalizes mental/physical stressors, muscle patterns can change as the body attempts to adjust to the stressor imposed upon it. These stressors can be physical (repetitive motion activity, sitting for long periods of time) or psychological (anxiety, depression, sleep deprivation). This often results in tense, contracted tissue. Some physical changes can become generators of additional stressors such as fatigue, joint restriction, limitation of motion and pain while chronic stress patterns can result in long term muscular contraction which may even affect internal organs.
Massage is not just a luxury. According to The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, research reveals that massage can be beneficial for neck pain (https://nccih.nih.gov/research/results/spotlight/051809.htm) and low back pain (https://nccih.nih.gov/research/results/spotlight/070411.htm). According to AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), 17% of patients discussed benefits of massage with their physician and out of that 17%, over half of their treating physicians referred them for massage. Referrals for massage are frequently made by chiropractors, physical therapists, physicians' assistants and nurses (https://www.amtamassage.org/infocenter/economic_industry-fact-sheet.html). It is clear that more of us are taking steps to manage physical pain and mental stress so as to minimize inner disharmony and to enhance the quality of our lives.
While massage and other forms of bodywork help to balance one's system, alternative modalities including aromatherapy, breathwork, craniosacral therapy, guided visualization techniques, polarity therapy, qi gong and reiki help to restore us emotionally, energetically, mentally and spiritually.
I believe that in order to bring ourselves to a place of balance, we must not only heal the body but the mind and spirit. By integrating a variety of massage techniques with alternative modalities as well as by providing a place of soothing tranquility, my clients can allow themselves the opportunity to restore to a state of well-being.
